I love living within walking distance of Fareway. In the warm months, we walk down, cruise the aisles with our wagon, stock up on the basics, and walk back home.
The meat counter is incredible. High quality meats, cut and wrapped just how you want it. Want 3 pork chops or bratwurst in a package because there's just 3 people in your family? You got it. Or, buy a "whole" pork loin at $1.99 per pound, and they will cut it up and wrap it for you however you like. What's not to love about that?
I also like that it's small, so it's quick to get in and pick up truly "just a few things" and get right back out again without having to pass by displays of toys and clothes and videos and whatever else is in those humongo multi-stores.
They are only open 8am - 9pm Monday - Saturday, but the prices are very good, and they match competitors' sales - I can't ask for anything more!
