Golden Village is an Asian market located in a small strip mall on Central Park Avenue in Scarsdale. It is a grocery store that carries all types of products for Asian cooking--canned, fresh, produce, seafood, fish, even cooked food to take home.
This is the place to go if you love to buy authentic Asian products because they are well stocked. Many of the brand names are written in Chinese so you better know what you want to buy. There are rows upon rows of noodles, sauces, soup mixes, teas, herbal remedies and supplements and so much more.
If you come to Golden Village before noon, you may be lucky enough to purchase homestyle dishes that are hot and ready to eat. These dishes are worth the trip, alone. On a recent visit, I was fortunate enough to pick up dumplings, Kung Pao chicken and scallion pancakes--and that's what remained at 12 noon! The cooked foods sell out quickly.
Fruits and produce are plentiful and you can get the ingredients for a serious stir fry here--try some of the unusual fish, oyster or soy (dark is so flavorful) sauces. Your dishes, friends and family will thank you.
Golden Village carries many boxed or packaged soup mixes that are wonderful to have in your pantry. Use them as a base for stir fry or a flavorful soup/stew.
