The Swedish Institute is one of the foremost schools in the country for the study of massage therapy and acupuncture, and has been so for almost a century. To earn your massage therapy degree you'll take hands-on classes in Swedish Massage, Shiatsu Massage, Sports Massage and Assessment, as well as lecture classes in anatomy and physiology, myology, neurology and pathology. Length of study is 16 months for full time students, and two years for part time, with classes available in the morning, afternoon and evenings and weekends. Financial aid is available. (the acupuncture program is 4 years) The Swedish Institute approaches massage therapy the medical and therapeutic profession that it is, you'll soon discover that your career options are not limited to spas and health clubs, and are, in fact, nearly endless. The instructors are top notch, the ciriculum is always being updated to best serve and educate the students, and business and professional workshops are required. When you graduate, you WILL know what you're doing. Be forewarned, however, this is NOT a fluff ciriculum. The classes are challenging and require dedication, internships and LOTS of study time.
