Review content:
My family and I have stayed at the Best Western Northwind several times over the past couple of years, as it is close to Devonwood, an equestrian facility in Sherwood. We used to stay in Newberg, which is about the same distance from Devonwood but in the opposite direction, but like the Best Western Northwind a lot more than any of the hotels we tried in Newberg. This is not a fancy resort hotel like we usually stay in, but it is comfortable, friendly, clean, and has some nice amenities - a pool and jacuzzi, free wireless Internet access, a good free continental breakfast (complete with do-it-yourself waffle maker!), work-out room, etc. The rooms are relatively large, must have been updated recently as everything looks fairly new, and are clean. Rooms (or at least the ones we've stayed in) have small refrigerators and microwaves. The beds are comfy.
I can't figure out the front-desk staff, though - we were there for 4 days last week, coming and going at odd hours (we had a horse at Devonwood, so had to feed her early in the morning and check on her late at night) and the same two people were always there, whether we were going out at 5:30 am, coming back mid-afternoon for a nap, or coming back in at 11 pm after doing night check. Maybe they sleep behind the desk in between helping guests?!?
