Review content:
My husband and I lived at Notting Hill for about 2.5 years. We enjoyed living there. The rent was reasonable, but I hear it is on the rise. The tennis court and pool are nice. The workout room is only so-so. There are 2 treadmills and one seems to almost always be broken. They keep the grounds very clean (the maintenance staff goes around and picks up trash every morning). The office staff is nice and fairly competent. It is on the Chapel Hill busline which is very nice. It's also close to good grocery shopping - a nice Harris Teeter, Southern Season, Whole Foods, and Earth Fare all within 7-8 minutes. It's also very close to I-40, which is good for commuters.
The individual apartments are roomy with good storage space. There's a washer/dryer hookup, so buy your own and don't be sucked into the high monthly rental fee for renting a set. We were on the first floor and could hear our neighbors upstairs, but not the neighbors on the sides.
