Review content:
We hired Heaven's Handyman to do a deck stain project. We were given assurances that it would be a routine job. However, this company and it's representative Jason Brown was in way over their heads. To not bore you with the details here are some of the lowlights: 3 1/2 weeks, nothing but a 2 hour powerwash has been completed; I came home for lunch one day and a worker was dumping straight bleach directly on the stairs of the deck (no question for the health of the grass, the dog, etc); no communication despite phone call after phone call to try to get the project started.
But here is the worst: the owner refused to refund our $300 deposit when he was finally fired from the job. The most that the contract says that he is legally allowed to keep is $150 dollars and when I agreed to take only $120 back so that he could recoup some of his cost in deck stripper, he never showed up to pay me and I can't reach anyone on the phone. No two ways of looking at it...that is stealing. Not to mention dishonest, disrespectful of my time, and it does nothing but a dissservice to the good small contractors out there. Perhaps he should discontinue the "Christian" theme to his business. He is anything but.
I am going to file for small claims even if it means that I have to spend $301 dollars to collect my $300.
Pros: None
Cons: Dishonest
