Review content:
We just took a weekend get-away to Long Beach on the Washington coast and stayed in one of these cottages. Long Beach is a 24 mile penninsula directly north of the Columbia River and south of Grays Harbor with broad flat beaches, grassy sand dunes and several small towns that must really bustle in the summer. These beach cottages are set back behind the sand dunes and really only have an ocean view if you stand on tiptoe but you can hear the surf and smell the beachy smells. The cottages themselves are very nice- beachy in their decor without being fussy. Ours was a one bedroom with a cozy living room with a gas fireplace and a kitchen with a built in eating nook. Nice touches include coffee/coffeemaker, tea and hot chocolate, chocolates, chenille robes and a feather bed. We also enjoyed the small porch with adirondack chairs for watching the setting sun. The hosts are very friendly and have a large selection of wines for sale in their front office. Look at photos at: www.blackwoodbeachcottages.com
