If you are coming in from out of town, check into this place!
It's a wonderful hotel right on Lake Michigan. On one side you have the YMCA, one the other side is the Maritime Museum and you are just two blocks away from the best candy store in the area. A short car ride will take you to Manitowoc's treasure of an art museum, The Rahr West. Lots to do in this little town.
The accommodations are what you'd expect from this type of hotel. Standard. What is nice is the location, having a great dining facility right in the hotel, a quiet pub, pool and the ability to step outside and be right by the lake.
Take a casual cruise to the marina. Walk along the lakeshore. Rollerblade. Maybe take in some fun local events. (Check with the front desk for a current schedule)
