I'll never forget the one day I was buying dill weed at the grocery store in the little glass bottles in the baking aisle. Just out of curiosity, I checked the little tag on the shelf that listed the price, including the price per pound. I was stunned to find that the dill weed I was buying was around $250 a pound!! Outrageous. I vowed then and there that I would always purchase my spices in bulk bins. At Winco, they have a huge selection of bulk bin spices, and so much more. There is cereal, candy, nuts, and snacks. I think they even have bulk bin pet food. Now I pay around 12 cents to fill up my bottle of dill weed. That's a price I can live with. Winco has excellent prices on everything in their store, and the selection is amazing. At time, Winco is pretty crowded and most people seem to go there to really stock up, so the lines are pretty slow moving. Also, you will need to bag your own groceries, which is a very small price to pay for such savings. Recently, the Cedar Crossing Winco and the Orenco Station Winco started accepting ATM cards, which has made paying much easier, since I don't carry a check book.
