I have to say finding this place for my wife and I was an accident. We passed by Fandango on our way to try out Maya's up the street on Stark. Didn't even try to go into Maya's it looked like it was hidden in a grocery store converted into flea market. So I suggested we try Fandango back down the street. When we got there we notice the signs mentioned under new management and new menus. The Mexican food style was one we had not heard of before, but it seemed much more seafood centered. We went on a Thursday night and things were a bit slow, that was ok with us. It was very clean inside, it even smelled clean. There was a dance floor and a stage, and it indicated it was a night club. We're suspecting that was more of a Weekend thing.
When we were seated, we were given the expected chips and salsa. Just the right amount of heat and flavor, not too hot, but enough to add a kick. The chips were good too.
The menu was a bit daunting, in my opinion too many options. Anyhow, my wife ordered a Shrimp Burrito and I ordered a Chicken Burrito and an octopus and shrimp tostada. As we waited we got to try their shrimp soup compliments of the new management. Yummy!
The meals didn't take too long at all to get to us. There was plenty of octopus and shrimp on my tostada, there was also plenty of cucumber too. It was served cold with some kind of gaspacho sauce over it. I personally liked it.
The burritos came with a small salad. The burritos were in my opinion the perfect size not so giant that you can pick it up but big enough to make two meals for a conservative eater. The taste was totally authentic. There was potatoes in it too. The flavor was great. The waiter was very friendly and I was able to customize my order asking for no tomatoes or onions. The total was only $25! Definitely got our monies worth.
We'll be going back again, and well see how things go with our kids with us. Ages 3, 5 and 7 that will be the test.
Pros: Good food, good price, good service.
Cons: Daunting menu.
