Businiess name:  Consolidated Credit Counseling Services Inc

Review content:
After moving to Miami to attend grad school, my formerly stellar credit history took a major hit & within a couple of years, I was in credit trouble. I called Consolidated Credit Counseling Services after seeing their commercials & it was really simple to enroll in the program via phone and sending some info by fax. They get creditors to eliminate your over limit & late charge fees and lower your interest rate, sometimes dramatically (one my cards went from 18% to 1%). They are a non-profit organization, but you are charged a monthly fee for their services. However the amount saved by the decrease in interest rates greatly outweighs this fee in my case. I've been on the program for about two & a half years at this point, so I called the other day to see where I stand with the creditors. The customer service rep who helped me was excellent - he answered all of my questions, gave me the information I requested, and made suggestions about how to get out of the program even sooner if I can now afford to pay a little more per month. CCCS also has a great website with lots of financial information and advice. I'd definitely recommend this debt management program to anyone who feels like they are headed towards trouble due to their credit issues.
