Review content:
As in the previous review, perhaps a litlle rough around the edges...certainly ventilation and the "uneven" surfaces of the booths could be deemed issues...BUT this is a place that exudes a definite Bohemian charm reminiscent of those revered finds that lurk in the obscure backstreets of Paris. Last night was one of those nights that everything...service, charm and attentiveness of service, the fascinating photoart on the walls, the scents from the kitchen, the small but very well thought out winelist...again, everything was firing on all cylinders because THE FOOD BRINGS IT ALL HOME!! BIG TIME!! What a fantastic array of dishes so well prepared with impeccable ingredients and at unbelievably low prices that one could easily enjoy two entrees for the price charged for one at some of Portland's more vaunted "name" spots. I won't go into a Michelin-like dissection of all the dishes we enjoyed...just want to convey that I've eaten at many restaurants around the world for many years and I can't recall having left too many with a bigger smile of total contentment than I had on my face last night. Folks, this place is THE REAL DEAL!
Pros: THE FOOD!
Cons: Ventilation, "elevation changes" in the booths!
