Review content:
I was looking for a nice Italian place for a dinner for two for a Friday night, and remembered what great lunches I had at Bread. After reading reviews, though, I was worried I wouldn't be able to get in or that the service would be terrible. Neither of these were true. we walked in at 8:20 and were seated immediately. It was active, but not crowded. Our waitress wasn't the friendliest person, but she was helpful when choosing what to order and was attentive throughout the meal. We had the brie tartines (worth having, though it wasn't the best bread/cheese combination I've had here), and I had the lasagna bolognese (big serving, and quite good, though I wish I had split 2 dishes rather than having it to myself). The lighting was not too dark, and the music trendy but not too loud, so it would be a great place for a date.
It certainly seems possible that a trendy place like this would have arrogant or apathetic service people, but I haven't seen them yet. The bread and cheese dishes are excellent, and the ambiance ideal for a weekend dinner for 2-4.
Pros: bread, cheese, ambiance, reasonable cost
Cons: slightly unfriendly waitress
