By visiting here you can get a glimpse as to what it was like living in the frontier land of the 1800's. Much of the acres of land that is now the hiking and walking trail was documented and preserved thanks to the Kennicot family and the city of Glenview. There are log cabins, gardens, a greenhouse and a visitors center as well. Say hello to Big Al the giant alligator-turtle that is over 120 yrs. old. He is one of the stars of the vistors center along with other marine life and reptiles.
