When Lowes had a promo of $29 for an HVAC checkup we signed up. ARS sent a tech out and he opened our unit to check refrigerant levels. Its an old Trane 1200xl system that used R22 which isnt available anymore. We expected it to be low because it hadnt been serviced in 6 years. And it was lowish normal. He 'inspected' the coils and found them rusty. Fair enough on a 25 year old system. Asked him to send out someone to give us a quote on a new system. Never happened. THEN we kept getting texts saying 'Congratulations on the install of your new system' . And asking for 'final payment'!! Installed new system from Thermo Direct.
