I lived at 1000 N LaSalle St last year as a tenant. On the last day of my lease, before my lease was over, I had suitcases packed up in my empty apartment before moving out. Two PPM employees of this building entered my apartment without warning, while I was not there, and went through my packed suitcases. I came home to my things scattered everywhere with one employee still in my room. He claimed he thought I moved out due to my roommates keys in the office, but not mine. Another employee handed me a bag of my electronics that they took, including my laptop, AirPods, camera, and chargers. As I packed everything back up, I realized cash was stolen. I spoke with Simona T., the building manager, who gave me the cash back as to not escalate things further. A few days later, when I moved out and unpacked everything, I realized more was missing. The building refused to compensate the rest of my stolen belongings.
