Review content:
If you choose to use Golden West Homes/Factory Direct, I would re-think your decision… My husband and I are Camp Fire survivors and we decided to go with Golden West back in August of 2019. By January of 2020 we had signed the first “final contract” to order our home, after some hiccups, one of which was our permit application sitting on someone’s desk longer than it should have, we signed the last “final contract” and finally ordered the home in July of 2020. In August we were told that our home should be built and delivered by the beginning of November and we could be in by Christmas of 2020. Well that didn’t happen and in December our delivery date changed to January, in January our delivery date changed to February, and then it changed to March. Well March rolled around and our delivery date had changed to May… As of right now, April 29, 2021, they are telling me that I should have delivery in 2 weeks. (insert eyeroll here) We weren’t even on the schedule to have our foundation done until I called and had a complete rampage on multiple people two days ago. Then all of a sudden fill dirt started showing up that afternoon, after being ordered that very day.
At the beginning, our salesman was great. He was always available to answer questions and of course make the sale. But after the order was submitted, I don’t think that he cared all that much. I have called and asked where we were in the process of getting our house and that’s when the dates would change. For the last few months, he has said “I’m pretty sure your house is ready to be transported”. But never a definite, set in concrete yes or no. How can my house be delivered in 2 weeks if you don’t even know if my house is done????
I have also tried to contact the factory to see if they can give me a straight answer. All I wanted was a simple “yes your home is ready” or “no, it will be a longer wait”. But even that has got me nowhere. Better communication and transparency would be a great asset for this company.
