When I was deciding which school to go to, I was stuck between UC Berkeley and NYU. NYU was in the middle of New York City and drew me in with its culture...but after realizing the small fortune it would have taken to live there, I decided on Cal...Never did I imagine what I'd go through being here. Cal really leaves you on your own here...and it's sink or swim, but through that struggle to stay afloat, you really mature and find out what you're made of. This place is filled with tons of really smart people and that can really be annoying when you show up for class all the time and they sleep through the few lectures that they do show up for and then totally rock the midterm...but that's really humbling...I've grown and matured so much and my mind has been enlightened in so many areas since coming here and I don't think I would have gotten that in any other school. Yeah, its kinda smelly and gross, but that just makes me love it even more...that it doesn't need to look great to be a great school
