Review content:
While having my post-operative appointment, I was taken into an exam room directly across from the waiting area. I thought it was strange that the tech conducted the exam while the door was open and everyone in the waiting room could hear the whole conversation and see into the room. Drops were put into my eye to dilate the pupil and I was told to wait in the waiting room until the Doctor could see me. I then noticed that the same tech closed the door for each and every patient she saw the entire time I was waiting there. Also , other techs closed the doors as they saw patients in those rooms. I felt that the tech must have thought I was an old "Creeper" and must have felt afraid to be in the room with me with the door closed. HIPPA is supposed to apply to everyone. Why was I not afforded privacy? Felt very uncomfortable with the situation.
Have had surgery on both eyes and have found UES to be top notch in every other aspect of my treatment. Too bad this tech ruined it for me. Maybe she should seek employment somewhere that doesn't make her afraid to treat her patients with respect and dignity.
