Mahan's was a lifelong dream wedding venue for me, as I had attended 8 weddings there in the past! We booked Mahan's in July of 2017 for our October 2018 wedding. Everything looked beautiful. Fast forward to the middle of July of 2018, we had a meeting to make our final payment with Marty at 6:00p which he showed up for at 6:45p - and meant we had 45 minutes to look around. The place was a disaster. They had apparently not landscaped for the season, and the property was a gigantic safety hazard. I took about 50 photos of broken stairs, poorly manicured landscape, cracks in walls, water damaged ceilings, broken glass from past weddings, non-working fountain, garbage and more. He was somewhat apologetic, but condescendingly assured us that they would fix everything before our wedding (10 weeks away). I spoke to two offices in town regarding fire and safety and was told that if there were any violations, they could be shut down at any time. Even on our wedding day. Needless to say, we were forced to find another venue - and lost our deposit, which I'm sure they needed... we had to send out new invitations, hire new vendors (since Mahan's included DJ, cake, etc.).
This place used to be the DREAM and now has turned into an insanely overpriced mess. I'd be more than happy to share all of these photos with anyone who would like to see them. Moral of the store is, if you have a budget of $150 per person, save your money and go ANYWHERE else. The reviews don't lie! They are washed up, and clearly can't maintain a venue that was once amazing.
