My boyfriend and I chose to stay here because we booked our trip late, didn't want to pay much, and thought it would be nice to be downtown. Let me start by saying I was dreading it based on the reviews - I am a person who refuses to touch hotel comforters or walk in hotel rooms barefoot - but I was pleasantly surprised. Our room had a fridge, as all do - it kept very cold. We had a coffee pot which was a surprise but there was only instant coffee available. There was a newish, but very small TV and wi-fi. We had a queen bed that wasn't very comfortable, and although the sheets were dingy and had old stains, they were clean - trust me, I checked very closely. I also checked for bed bugs; the mattress was covered in plastic. The towels were old and well-used but clean. Outside you could smell the hot springs but even with our window open all night I couldn't smell them inside. Although it's an old hotel, it didn't smell old or musty in the room which was a relief. It was pretty hot in our room and we couldn't seem to control that - the baseboard heat was on even though the dial said it was off. The shower was nice and hot. There was no blow dryer and only a pump soap dispenser for hand soap in the shower and by the sink. The location is great because you can walk to the bus stop to get to the ski resort and can easily walk all of downtown. It was very quiet at night; we were on the second floor, which probably helped. It was super easy to park. My biggest complaints would be the heat of the room and the uncomfortable bed. All in all, I have few complaints about this place, I would stay again, and I would recommend it to others who want to save a buck.
