Review content:
On the advice of Snyder Service Technicians I replaced my 10 year old 5 Ton and 1-1/2 Ton American Standard units with more efficient Trane units because the units had leaky coils and bad condensors. The units worked great until I decided to have Snyder come out to maintain them against my better judgement. The 1st service on 11/23/16 did not yield any problems. The 2nd service on 5/19/17 the technician told me that the smaller unit had a bad TXV valve and the part was under warranty but the 1 year labor warranty had expired and it would cost me $750.00 to replace. They sell me a unit with a defective TXV valve and they want to charge me $750.00 to replace it. I declined. I told the technician that there was nothing reported wrong with the unit when it was serviced on 11/23/16 and he asked to see the service record. He looked at it and told me that the pressure on the unit was low at that time and the valve was probably defective. This inconsistency between service technicians has been frustrating since I've been doing business with Snyder and once they touch my units there are always problems. I've had the uncomfortable feeling for a long while that I was being scammed and tried to be more attentive. This fiasco with my 2 year old unit has pushed me over the edge. Therefore I have decided to cut the umbilical cord and get rid of them. They are frustrating and have cost me enough money.
