Review content:
I received great customer service when entering the shop. I felt welcome and confident that the problem would be taken care of. I explained the problem with my a/c, specifying that it worked - but that there was something wrong with the electrical causing a delay in the a/c coming on, but overall it worked. I reiterated over and over that it blew cold, it came on, it works - it just takes 20 - 30 minutes to come on.
I got a call 7 hours later that I needed to have the blower motor and resistor replaced, a $730 job. He explained that the part itself was $320, which I could not reproduce anywhere. They said they could fix it in an hour and a half- it just didn't add up, ...anyway, I declined because even I knew that wasn't the problem. The blower motor worked - as I had mentioned to the front desk staff several times. It was really disappointing that it seemed the mechanic hadn't even checked my car out, he had just turned the a/c knob and it didn't come on so he assumed I needed to spend close to a grand to fix the issue.
I declined the service and took it to the dealership, which I hate doing. (Generally, I prefer to give local auto shops the business) The dealership diagnosed the problem as a electrical relay issue (which I assumed was the problem) and it cost under $200. They fixed it in no time and now my a/c works beautifully and I'm not out $730.
