Better Business F rating with 23 complaints against Glass Emporium of Marin d.b.a. Glass Pro in Sacramento: Last summer I used the State Farm glass claim service for a new windshield on my car. The repair was performed by Glass Pro in Sacramento. My factory installed windshield had a crack in it. For the first appointment Glass Pro brought out the wrong windshield. After the second appointment my rear view mirror came off while I was driving which was very dangerous. Also, there was a lot of wind noise coming from the top of my windshield. Glass Pro reattached my mirror but couldn't do anything about the wind noise. Then the rain season arrived and my factory rain sensor kept turning my windshield wipers on high constantly, even when there was little to no rain. In January I brought my car to Glass Pros and left it all day for the repair. When I picked up my car I questioned the rubber stripping around the windshield because it was very uneven. Glass Pros said that this would get better. It never did, the wind noise continued, and last week while I was driving the rear view mirror fell off again. Glass Pro literally used a screw, drilled into my car, to hold down the cowl (plastic strip between windshield & hood). They also sliced my A pillar cloth with a razor blade. I solicited four estimates to repair the damage that Glass Pro caused, I was quoted an average of $1,400 to fix the damage. Gerald Alexander who claims to be the owner of Glass Pro (Glass Emporium of Marin Inc.) will not pay for a different repair shop to fix the damages his company has caused to my car on the two occasions that they serviced the vehicle. BBB states the following about this company: Government Actions On March 18, 2010 Mehrdad ""Tony"" Hakimian (case CR-09-00021) owner of Glass Emporium of Marin, Inc. and it's subsidiaries, Glass Pro and Glass Masters was convicted of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, nine counts of wire fraud and one count of obstruction of justice. A federal grand jury found that between 1999 and 2006 Mehrdad Hakimian conspired to defraud insurance companies by as much as $586,000 by misrepresenting the type and price of windshields they installed and by overcharging insurance companies for moldings and other parts that were not used. The defendant was also convicted of destroying and concealing documents for the purpose of hindering an ongoing FBI investigation into him and his company. The guilty verdict followed a 4 week jury trial in which evidence showed that beginning in 1999 and continuing until December 2006 Mr. Hakimian directed employees in their corporate office and managers located throughout the country to falsify invoices sent to insurance companies for the replacement of windshield and other automobile glass. Sentencing for Mr. Hakimian is set scheduled for June 11, 2010.
