I was referred here by the mechanic I usually use because my air conditioning was not working. When I called they said it was a simple process, would take about an hour, and would cost around $130 to charge the unit. After I dropped the truck they called and said it was missing a belt which drives the air conditioning and that replacing this may take care of the problem. After they replaced it they called and said it still wasn't working so they would have to charge the unit as well. This made sense to me as the unit would not have worked without the belt anyway. They charged the unit and called to say everything was fine and I could pick up the truck. When I picked it up they explained that they could not find a leak in the system, but had injected a dye in the freon which would help them identify a leak if it failed in the future. They charged me $267, which was more than I had hoped, but understandable because they had replaced the belt as well. The air conditioning worked for two days, and then blew nothing but warm air, as it had before. I took it back in and they said that with the dye they now had identified the leak. I needed a new condenser which would cost $400. I was disappointed because essentially I paid them $267 to diagnose what was wrong. Had they told me initially it would cost over $650 to fix the air conditioning, I would have passed. Instead I spent $267 and have the same problem I came in with. After discussing this with them they said they would waive the freon, which had lasted two days, and make the repair for $340. I was not willing to pay over $600 between the two invoices so I passed. Still no AC, and very disappointed.
