Overall I consider PWHI to be pretty to very good. They are pricey and I feel I could have gotten equal quality and size of deck with the same materials from another vendor for a fair amount less. PWHI did not use any strong-arm sales tactics although Nick is a very convincing sales rep. I noted several spelling and grammar errors on their paperwork and contract to which Nick stated he would have their management staff make corrections and he thanked me for my feedback. I also noted that the warranty info in the contract was somewhat contradictory. Reading the fine print I found that transfer of the warranty to another/new homeowner was good for only 5yrs. I asked for and received 10yrs. The overall quality of the work was pretty good and the speed at which the job was completed was excellent. Some very clear quality and attention to detail issues should be addressed by the PWHI management to their construction crews: Try to ensure any print stamps on lumber are hidden from view or facing outward away from easy sight, all corners, joints, and seams need to be perfect and clean-up should be perfect (no mis-alignments or sharp edges, rails need to be perfectly flat and level, and balusters need to fit correctly, not a single nail, screw, or piece of plastic to be left behind on the ground). Finally, I would like to say that the entire staff that I dealt with were very friendly, polite, and professional (PWHI gets big points for this). Again, PWHI is a bit pricey and their quality and materials is nothing different than you can get elsewhere, but I do believe their overall professionalism and service are excellent. One final note: Rodolfo, the Lead of the construction team that built my deck was great, friendly, knowledgeable and understanding/accommodating.
