Highly Unprofessional. At the first meeting to review the job Chad's 19 year old son started smoking/vaping right in my home right in front of me without even asking for permisson. Never mind that he (the son) paid no attention to the job at hand b/c he was too busy with his phone as well. Bad form and bad first impression. (STRIKE 1) It was too bad that I had already paid for the job. We firmed on a Monday to start the job. I told Chad I had limited time for the job and he said he understood and yet he did not call but "Texted" the Saturday before to cancel and reschedule for the following Monday. DAMN IT! (STRIKE 2). I told him I want to start as early as possible, Say 8AM. "No problem," he said. Again the Saturday before he Texted, not called, to say he'll be there Monday between 9-10 AM. The morning of, I planned for that time and went to town for errands in the meanwile. At 0745AM Chad texted, not called, to say he was "fueling up now and would be there directly". Now I'm stuck in town with him on the way. He'd have to wait for me now. (STRIKE 3) Upon arrival, I discovered that neither he nor his son was doing the job, but his wife. Very well, but she seemed very disagreeable and of bad temperment and attituded. It seemed that she didn't like this particular job. I'm not sure. Either way she was on the phone constantly and took numerous Smoke breaks. She didn't get started until 0930 and a moment later she said she "needed a smoke". Between 0930 - 12 she took four smoke breaks.(STRIKE 4) I had water stains that were showing though the paint. I figured that would happen, so I had no problem. Chad's wife said they would charge me extra to fix them, but I told her the put a heavier first coat and not to worry about them. That's when her grumbling really started, bc I could hear her disgust and attitude as she spoke on the phone to her husband Chad. (STRIKE 5) As I mowed my lawn I saw her loading her van with gear and figured she was done. She asked me to check the work. When I did I found the job half completed. She called Chad to complain that she didn't know the extent of the job that I had confirmed with him before he left her to it. He returned to finish the job and said it would take about twenty minutes. However, when he "finished" he and is wife just left without any kind of notice or to let me check the work. When I discovered they had left I found paint drops on a number of different areas of the carpet, two areas on the wood paneling, and the grab bars of our treadmill. (STRIKE 6) I called Chad and demanded he return to repair the stains. He said would, but sent his illtempered wife instead. Upon her arrival I showed her the stains. She said defensively, "That's not paint!" I touched a blob of the still wet paint on the carpet to show her it was in fact paint that she splattered. I also showed her other spots of paint of which she made an apparent attmpt to wipe up with her finger. (STRIKE 7) I called Chad again and he returned to clean the spots only to then again leave promptly with his wife without any notice, apology or regard. (STRIKE 8) I "Texted" Chad to complain that we will NEVER use Rainbow Drywall and Painting again and they will receive a terribly honest and negative review. He did not reply. It wasn't necessary as his work speaks for itself. Robert P., Thomasboro, IL
