I purchased the Iphone 4 for my daughter for Christmas on November 19, 2011. On December 24th my husband and I attempted to activate her brand new cell phone in order to surprise her on Christmas day. However, we were extremely disappointed to find out that upon activating our daughters christmas present, the brand new iphone 4 was completely defective. The iphone vibrated spontaneously, turned on and off without reason, and simply failed to work properly. Despite the endless problems that occurred with my daughter's iphone, we still wanted to surprise her with her new cell phone on Christmas day and exchange the phone the next day. Unfortunately, we were not only extremely disappointed, but infuriated to find out that AT&T refused to exchange my daughter's brand new, defective, and utterly broken iphone because the 30-day warranty was up. Despite the fact that my husband and I purchased her phone on November 19th and did not even open the package until December 24th to discover that her phone was absolutely defective, we were not allowed to return her phone. My entire family has been with AT&T for nine years, and continuously faced problems regarding this cell phone carrier. Not only was I unable to reach my daughter when she was at school or with friends because she was without a cell phone, but we now are left with a defective iphone 4. I am infuriated because this problem had nothing to do with our use of the iphone, but strictly had to be a manufacturing problem; and because of a problem that was out of our hands to begin with, we paid over $150 for a phone we will never be able to use.
