Review content:
My daughter, now 13, has taken lessons from Master McArther for 4 years. She tends to be shy, but has gained an inner confidence and sense of accomplishment that we owe to Master McArther and his instruction. The atmosphere is very family friendly, and we felt like "one of the family" right away.
Master McArther is extremely qualified: 6th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and 5th degree black belt in Koryo Gumdo, (swords), and "Overall World Champion" from the 2004 World Championships, with 3 Golds and 1 Silver medal. More importantly, though, he is a GREAT instructor. He knows HOW to teach: he is positive, structured, and has a gift for picking up on what works with different students. He believes that the character development of tae kwon do (integrity, perseverence, honesty, self-control, etc) is just as important as physical skill development. Students learn to focus, respect relationships and their own self-worth, as well as self-defense. The best!
