Businiess name:  Fortune Cookie Chinese Rstrnt
Review by:  Tom G.
Review content:
Admittedly, there's a certain sameness to Chinese takeout food. I know this from experience: I often eat lunch on my desk and it's usually easier to order out than pack a lunch. The food at Fortune Cookie, however, stands above most Chinese takeout places. Most dishes are loaded with vegetables (a particular pet peeve of mine is the kind of take-out that's just a big congealed mass of meat and sauce) and include all the usual suspects -- i.e. chicken & broccoli, sweet & sour pork -- plus my favorites like hot & spicy bean curd (yes -- tofu in Eau Claire!) and Hunan happy family (a tender mix of shrimp, beef, chicken and pork with vegetables). Avoid the (they're greasy and not very flavorful) but order a bowl of egg drop soup (it's a big, surprisingly hearty portion). You can phone ahead and pick your food up or have it delivered (typically pretty fast, in my experience).
