We have been going to Aliotta Pastry Shop for years and have always liked their pastries and cakes, and have ordered birthday cakes for the kids for several years also without a problem. However, for my daughter's recent birthday we had a disaster. I ordered a regular birthday cake and requested that they add some pieces of chocolate around the outside on the rim of the cake. They did it for every other cake and it was delicious. The sales girl seemed to understand what I wanted and the receipt said chocolate around the outside. When my husband brought her cake home on the day of the party, I almost passed out. It was the ugliest cake I have ever seen in my life. It had so much chocolate just drizzled ALL over the top of the cake that you couldn't even read what the cake said. The lettering was written in a disgusting bright purple color, and the flowers were or purple, pink and blue. On top of all this mess was multi-color confetti all over. I immediately called to complain and the girl tried to blame me by saying that I ordered something different. I told her the only thing I wanted different was a little chocolate around the outside. Is that so hard to understand? I finally got a store credit. I was so embarrassed to serve this cake and some of my guests laughed when they saw it.
