When I first began my journey at SHY I feel in love with not only the studio but with the owner Monica. I wanted to become part of the SHY family so I became part of the karma yogi program. For those who don't know what a karma yogi is it is when someone, like myself, volunteers 6 hours a week at the studio in exchange for unlimited yoga. Number wise they benefit from that. $9.32x6(hrs)=$55.92 (week) x 4= $223.68 (month). Unlimited yoga is 75$ a month. I was part of the SHY family for about three months. Recently tho Janell made the decision to let me go as a karmi. I didn't agree 100% with her decision. But that's not what is keeping me from becoming a monthly member. When she told me that I was not a good fit for the studio I did not just take that as a karmi but as a student. When she told me I had multiple complaints against me for being rude and loud I asked her why she NEVER talked to me about this (one can only learn from their mistakes). Her answer was ""I'm not arguing about this"" and hung the phone up. When she hung the phone up on me it showed her lack of professionalism. I don't think she fully understands that her words did not only hurt me as a karmi but as a student and a person. And since this has happened (3/17/2014) I've tried to get a hold of Monica, to express the hurt Janells words brought, I simply get forwarded to voicemail.
