Review content:
This is the first review I've ever written and hesitated to do so for a while since I don't want to cast aspersions on someone based on one experience. However, I felt it was my responsibility to voice my concerns about Dyana at Yves Durif. This is not a review of the salon, which offered great customer service and attention and tried to resolve my issues, but commentary on my haircut. I went to Dyana in June for a cut for a special event. The cut she gave me was fantastic and lasted beautifully for 7 months! It was a blunt cut with long layers and despite initial concerns when it was shorter, I ended up loving the cut. I went back to her at the end of this year and asked for JUST a trim, letting her know how happy I was with the cut. I came out with a butchered haircut that looks like an ‘80s metal band meets a middle aged- upper east side lady. I'm not sure what happened, but my hair was totally cut into in all the wrong ways and it is not remediable for months because of the erratic shorter layers and cut-into ends. It has now been 3 months and I see no hope in site for quite a while. I would not be writing this review if Dyana had been able to acknowledge any problems with the cut even if there was nothing to do about it. It's disconcerting that her cutting could be so inconsistent and that she either wasn't able to see it or was unable to acknowledge that she might have had a bad day. What she did do was blame her cut on the condition of my hair, which was healthy when I went in to see her. \r
The salon management was very attentive to my problem, but the cut was so bad that there was no real resolution. \r
I decided to write this review because despite the fact that I know we all have bad days and that life is imperfect, my concern is that Dyana is oblivious to that possibility which may speak to further inconsistency moving forward and I’d like to save future clients from my fate.\r
