Businiess name:  Bill & Charlie's Auto

Review content:
Had our vehicle checked by a competitor first (on a Thursday), big estimate for repairs so we took the vehicle home and parked it. I called 20+ places the next day (Friday), getting quotes for comparison, because it was a larger job, most places (incl Bill and Charlies) had to call me back. They did call back, and amazed me with their price, "bottom, basic" quote was less than $400 (compared to $1400-2200+ other places said). Guy and I talked, explained I would have my husband call back to confirm. Husband called when he got home from work, went over competitor quote while on the phone with B&C Auto repair ("This is for head gaskets, they included this, did you?"), he made the appointment to drop off next business day (Monday; today). Took the vehicle there today and paid almost $100 to have them diagnose it. It was exactly what I told them on the phone - head gasket (remember I had the quote in front of me from competitor). Their response, on the phone *I* said valve gasket. Do not argue with a customer. I called many places Friday, I knew what I was getting a quote for. My husband called on Friday also to verify the quote was for head gasket, even went over the competitor quote and was assured, yup, same thing, so he made the appointment. After dropping the car off today, the quote was over $2k for "basic stuff". No thanks, and very unhappy about having us drive an overheating car to their shop for the problem I and my husband told them of on different phone calls when making an appointment for the car, to have the estimate come back more than FIVE times (5x!!) as much as price over the phone. The people need to *listen* to their customers and double check themselves. We were now out an extra $100 bc they could not honor the quote over the phone, or even get anywhere near the competitor quote. Drove the car out of their lot and into their competitor where the repair is being done.
