Orion Family Practice is covered by my primary PPO insurance- I chose a doctor for myself and one for my son based on this. However, once I scheduled an appointment for my son and started filling out paperwork in the office I was called to the back by a staff member and told I should choose a different provider because they did not accept our secondary insurance (straight Medicaid). I have no problem paying small co-pays, and it has never been an issue with any other provider would was non-participating, but this office was adamant that they would only see my son once then we had to go elsewhere- even though I paid for the co-pay the day of service. Frankly, I found the attitude I was given, as well as the tone I was spoken to in, very rude and condescending. I did not appreciate being talked to like I didn't understand my PPO policy coverage when I am very well aware of what is and is not covered. I can't say I'd recommend this practice, even though Dr. Ripley was very nice, because of the attitude of their office staff.
