Initially I was greeted warmly and welcomed into this new hobby at this family owned business. However, as with this hobby, I experienced several crashes and needed some repairs over time. The more I entered the shop, the worse the treatment became. So much so, that I was being laughed at by the two daughters that work the register. I solved that issue with a phone call, but then it became worse. It was worse because the owner Harry, treated my brother and his daughter rudely one day...and he never mentioned we were related. This treatment angered my brother so much, that he ended up returning a gift certificate he bought me for Christmas. Now, you can mess with me, but not my family - especially my innocent 8 y/o niece. Several phone calls with the eldest daughter yielded a discovery that wouldn't have been too hard for this ER/ICU RN to figure out. In her words, "My father can't communicate with us and this family is very dysfunctional..." This prompted her to cry and I simply informed her that I'd handle this on the Web; with poor review after poor review. It's a shame, because Jeff and Sean are wonderful. They never make you feel more upset than you are when you need to replace a part or a plane d/t beginner error. I can't say the same for Harry and his daughters. It says they are some sort of preferred dealer with Parkzone and Horizon Hobby. I'll be calling those companies again to complain. Maybe they'll pull the "preferred" status, or just stop distributing to them all together. Harry obviously feels as though he has a clinch on the local market and treats his customers the same way he treats his family..."My way or the highway." Well, Harry, I got news for you. Now if you upset someone, they tell hundreds of people online. My campaign begins now. Avoid this shop unless it's an absolute must...say, if you're on fire and need a cup of water thrown on you. You will get much better service and a larger selection at Hobbytown USA in Robinson. Plus, it's a straight shot from the North Hills.
