BEWARE! Peerless Cleaners WILL NOT accept responsibility for errors made. My 90-year old grandfather took a men's blazer for cleaning. The blazer was a gift (originally valued at >$250) and carried much sentimental value so it was kept in excellent condition. Peerless Cleaners shrunk the blazer several sizes and this was identified when the item was picked up. The blazer was no longer sold new and the only one we found was from a Tailor shop on eBay. It was in comparable condition but it was a little large. We asked for reimbursement of auction purchase price ($81) and alterations ($85 as quoted by Peerless' recommended local tailor shop) and provided receipts for everything. The Peerless Cleaners Corporate response referenced depreciated loss of value and suggested the manufacturer may have used an incorrect dry cleaning tag. They did reimburse the $81 purchase price in ""good faith"" (their words) but would not cover alterations to make the jacket fit as it had before taking it to their cleaners. While the remaining $85 is not significant in terms of keeping my grandfather happy, the principle issue remains that I had to spend money to resolve their error and they blindly de-valued an item that they had NO familiarity with. Additionally, the corporate office would not personally respond to me and kept having the store manager pass along messages, very poor and irresponsible customer interaction in my opinion. Extremely disappointing and I would STRONGLY recommend that you find another cleaners or that you don’t take them anything you aren't willing to spend your own money on to replace.
