Review content:
We set out on a Sunday morning to eat at a very popular family owned restaurant in Layton. When we got there it looked as if the entire city was there. The line went out the door and we went out of the parking lot in search of a less crowded place to eat.\r
\r
We drove down and headed up Main St. Layton. The first place we say was Cantina Southwestern Grill. There were a few cars in the lot. We decided to give it a shot. I have to say that we both ended up being glad we did!\r
\r
The place is nice, clean and pleasant. The host was nice and our server Angie seemed genuinely happy to be at work and happy to have us there. She normally doesn't work on Sunday mornings so we lucked out again! She laughed and made us both feel very comfortable. It's so nice to feel like you can relax and joke around with someone you don't know, but acts like a friend. She explained the Salsa Bar, which is extensive, and that there were more tortilla chips in the warmer. We were to help ourselves as long as we were there. We ordered margaritas and yes, there was more jesting - Sunday morning - Utah - before 11:30. Good times! \r
\r
We finally decided what we wanted. It was slow and the food came quickly. The portions were huge. I'm pretty sure we both can eat meals on this two or three more times (we hit the chips and salsa heavy, but didn't refill them). The food was excellent. Angie’s service was great!\r
\r
I have had better chille relleno, but this one was really good. Given the experience and overall quality of food, I have to give it a 5. Angie is largely responsible.\r
\r
We definitely recommend Cantina Southwestern Grill in Layton! I hope that when we go back we’ll be lucky enough to hook up with Angie again!
