Have never written a review on Citysearch before but was so appalled at the way Hertzberg treated my husband and fur when he went to pick it up from storage. \r \r Belk closed their fur storage so I moved to Hertzberg - Big mistake. Clerk was rude - just flung the fur at my husband without a hanger or a bag. I called to talk to the manager about it - left a message but he did not call me back. Sent an email through their website. If this is how they treat customers wonder how well my fur was being taken care of! See their response below - rather snippy about how he should have simply asked and love the part about a FREE hanger and bag!!\r \r Here is his reply:\r \r I'm so sorry to hear you were dissatisfied with your service! If you'll allow me to explain our procedure, hopefully that will smooth things over: our standard policy is to offer to help carry the fur out to the client's car, with the garment folded with the lining facing the outside. We would have been more than happy to put it on a plastic hanger with a plastic bag to cover if the client had simply asked. The reason we don't automatically put all furs in bags is because fur really shouldn't be kept in a bag of any sort (be it plastic or mesh or fabric) for any period of time as it can crush and mat the fur down and causes the pelts to dry out faster. \r \r Again, I'm sorry your husband was not pleased with the way he was given the garment, but no where in the contract does it say we are obligated to give you a free hanger and garment bag - however, like I said, we are happy to do so if it is requested at the time of the pick up. \r \r - Derek Kiszely\r Hertzberg Furs
