Nov 28, 2013 - Thanksgiving\r \r Dear Colin,\r \r There are many things I am thankful for today, many of which are the life changing improvements Colin Hoobler Physical Therapy ( C.H.P.T. ) have made over the last three months since working with and under the professional guidance of Margo Burette.\r \r You website states you specialize in Arthritis ( Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis ):\r Before having your joint replaced, try us. Strengthening and stretching muscles around a joint can dramatically decrease pain and improve function, but it must be done right.\r \r I couldn’t agree more.\r \r I first came to C.H.P.T. and met Margo for an evaluation on August 13, 2013, thinking there was not much that could be done after over 30 years of Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Peripheral Neuropathy, and the resulting bone spurs, degenerative cervical spine disease and pain. I felt like there was a heavy, painful metal cage locking me in its grip around my shoulders, collar bones and neck, along with many other long time joint problems elsewhere. I had given up doing even simple stretches years ago due to pain and muscle spasms.\r \r It was the first time I have ever had Physical Therapy ( P.T. ), despite Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis around puberty then adult Rheumatoid Arthritis at age 30. I did not know what to expect and was very hesitant initially to even call, but my Rheumatologist had recommended building up muscles in my upper torso with a “personal trainer” of sorts.\r \r From the first moment of the first appointment, Margo was incredibly kind, patiently ( over the last three months ) answered myriads of questions, never gave up hope when it took weeks of core strengthening, myofascial massage and stretching before even eventually being able to use light weights.\r \r Margo took measurements in August, September and November. She did not need to tell me there was a good deal of improvement in range of motion when I saw her on November 25, 2013. I could feel my range of motion, slowly, over the weeks, increasing. \r \r I can now walk briskly for 30 minutes on the treadmill as well as utilize several of the weight machines and free weights. I’ve changed my diet, adding more protein and eating much healthier foods. I feel younger, lighter, stronger. I have less pain throughout the day.\r \r I don’t know what the future will bring me in regards to any possible surgery, however, whatever the case may be, I am much better prepared for any eventuality.\r \r Colin, thank you for the research behind what you do, and for offering your patients “Physical Therapists who get it” like Margo. \r \r Sincerely,\r \r Joan Santos\r \r
