I loved the apartment, but the application took weeks. They ran my credit and then told me the apartment was rented. When I called to inquire why, they said they didn't like the fact we were going to bring in a caged rat (which we asked about before we applied and they said a caged pet was okay), and the fact that we have not given notice yet to our current place. They did not reach out to us to explain a decision; we did not need to bring the rat--it was just a bonus. We have mold in our current place, so we are supposed to look for a new place, and notifiy our landlord when we find one. They never even asked our explanation. \r

But even though that was the explanation, they ran my credit anyways and I have a negative inquiry now. They would not answer why they did that if they already knew they weren't going to give us an apartment. This is shady and I must look elsewhere for a place to stay. I'm going to report this inquiry as illegal for checking my credit without intention of renting.
