Review content:
I had a horrible experience at this dentist (I saw Donald Dodge) and wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I had no insurance at the time and was concerned about my teeth because I am diabetic. The dentist was cold and impersonal, and seemed very rushed. I explained that I had had some tooth pain and also suffered from tension headaches and migraines. I was told that I had 11 (yes, eleven!) cavities and that I needed a night guard because I had some wear on my teeth that was indicative to grinding during sleep. I was then ushered (guided/shuttled/corralled are all good words to describe this) to a financing desk, where the lady wanted me to immediately fill out an application for special financing so that they could schedule my needed work. The estimated total (for the 11 fillings and the mouth guard) was just over $2000. The mouth guard alone was almost $600. I left in tears with an application, saying that I would talk to my husband and get back to them. After talking to my husband we had the good sense to ask around and decided to get a second opinion. We asked a friend of ours who is an orthodontist and he gave me two names. I called one of those dentists and imagine my shock, after going to him, when I learned I had 6 cavities. 2 of which were not even to a stage that needed to be filled (they were able to use air abrasion). So I ended up getting 4 fillings instead of 11. And that mouth guard? The new dentist recommended I get one of the $2 sports mouth guards from Wal-mart. And it worked great! I have gone to the other dentist since (it's been 6 yrs now) and I have always been taken care of and have been treated honestly. It's a shame there are people out there in this world that would do what the people at Dodge Family Dentistry did. I would have given Zero Stars instead of One if that were an option.
