Review content:
This lodge is set back from the road and offers quiet, spacious rooms with a rustic, western theme. The young man at the front desk took time to show me the lodge wood furniture he'd built and explain the technique for finishing, then offered some ideas for attractions when we got back to Bozeman. He also suggested a great place for dinner (the Lighthouse) and gave us some complimentary coupons for the dessert. His friendliness and the cozy decor made a great impression despite some booking issues I'd had on this and a previously postponed reservation. I thought the online rates were a bit steep (especially after some great stays in Cody and Bozeman for much less $) but booked anyway since lodging prices near the park entrances are all pretty high. As it turned out, this young man adjusted our rate to a more palatable amount which left us with a much more favorable impression. [I want to clarify here that I am not aggressive or ill humored towards those providing services. I shared my unfavorable booking experience in a pleasant way and was graciously given a concession...no demanding, no bullying.] All said, this lodge is well priced amonst the competition in Gardiner. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of countertop space in the bath
