Do not go to IVEC unless you have absolutely no other possibility, which is unlikely because there are now several Emergency Vet Hospitals in the Indianapolis area. Clearly, Dr. Speiser is an excellent veterinarian. And there is no question that Emergency Vet Hospitals need to charge more for their extended hours and expanded array of services. However, Dr. Speiser has developed a brilliant, diabolical, and predatory business plan that extracts the maximum payment possible from all clients.\r
The first step in the IVEC process is for the staff to treat their clients as though they are ignorant about their pets, insensitive and unaware of what is happening, and no matter what illness or accident has befallen your pet, you are somehow at fault. This process does two things: (1) establishes a clear superiority-inferiority relationship and (2) makes the pet owner feel extremely guilty. Both are important for the next step.\r
