Review content:
We were excited when we were seated outside on the dining deck. The couple next to us requested an ashtray and began smoking while we were eating. I went inside to request a table away from smokers. They informed me the only other table outside would be near more smokers. I informed them that I have asthma and desire to eat outside and would like them to enforce the no smoking state law. We were told it has been their policy to allow smoking at the outside dining area and they were not going to stop it now. The owner overheard our conversation and walked away. They then moved us inside next to the kitchen where we could hear the workers ridiculing us. RI state law requires smokers to be at least 50 feet from the building.
Pros: chowder tasted good
Cons: breaks RI smoking laws
