THE VILLAGE SMOKEHOUSE HAS THE BEST BARBECUE IN THE AREA, THE TEXAS HAWG IS
ENOUGH FOR TWO PEOPLE, AND GIVES YOU A
SAMPLE OF OTHER ITEMS ON THE MENU. PAY A COUPLE OF DOLLARS EXTRA AND ADD THE HOUSE SALAD WITH BLUE CHEESE DRESSING. THE BAKED
POTATO WITH SOUR CREAM AND BUTTER IS VERY
GOOD, THE CORNBREAD IS EXCELLENT, AND THE
BEANS ARE GOOD. IT MAKES AN EXCELLENT TAKEOUT MEAL AFTER WORK. THE ONLY COMPLAINT I HAD WAS THE LACK OF RATTLESNAKE 'GET BIT' BEER AT THE BAR, SOMETHING I LIKED AT THE PORTER BAR IN PORTER SQUARE, CAMBRIDGE, WHICH ALSO SERVES BARBEQUE (TRY THE PULLED PORK ON
JALAPENO, IT WILL BURN YOU THREE TIMES- ON THE WAY IN, PASSING THRU, AND ON THE WAY OUT THE NEXT DAY).
