So I've never written a review on citysearch before but I just felt that I had to say something about this place. A friend and I stumbled upon it last week and had an amazing meal. I always read the reviews on restaurants after I eat there (I'm a bartender so I like to compare other people's experiences to mine), and when I came on here I saw there was only one! The owner told me they'd just opened up, so I feel like I owe it to them to write one after the dinner I had. For starters, the service was great. So many places in NYC in the summer are totally stingy with water. It was 90+ that day, and my friend and I were sweating profusely. But literally 30 seconds after we sat down, a waitress was there with ice-cold water. Score one for this place. For appetizers, we split the bresaola with asparagus and goat cheese and the apple and spinach salad. I was surprised to see bresaola on the menu; most Italian places have proscuitto and carpaccio, but bresaola? If you haven't had it, you NEED to try it. Their version came with just the right amount of meat wrapped around the asparagus and goat cheese, and was among the top 3 renditions of the appetizer that I have ever had (the other two were from when I was in Italy). Main course for me was rigatoni bolognese. I should say that I am extremely picky about my pasta. A lot of Italian restaurants don't seem to understand the meaning of "al dente" when it comes to pasta. Perfectly cooked, you should feel just the slightest resistance when you bite down on it, and it should still be just a tiny bit sticky (otherwise the sauce doesn't adhere to the noodle). Well, it was perfect. All in all, I definitely recommend this place. The only drawback that I could see was that they had just opened, meaning that it takes a restaurant a month or two to get its groove in terms of providing a really seamless experience. Nevertheless, it wasn't for a lack of trying. And you should try this place! Pros: Food, Management Cons: nothing really
