I have also been a patient at this practice for about 6 years and never had a problem until recently. However, my experience with the staff was very limited to my P.A. that I saw once a year. Once I became pregnant and had more frequent office visits I quickly realized what a mess this practice is. My first prenatal visit with my normal P.A. was fine. She requested I come back at the end of the week for my first ultrasound even though I was very early (we thought I was 6 weeks, but I was actually only 5). My P.A. wasn't available for the ultrasound so I saw Dr. Carducci for the first time. The ultrasound tech was unable to see a fetal pole or heartbeat, but saw the gestational sac and the yolk sac. When the doctor came in to speak with us she sat down and immediately told me I should be prepared to miscarry! Again, I've never met this doctor. No introduction or anything. She went on to tell me that it's just not normal not to see at heartbeat at 6 weeks and then wrote me a prescription for valium because she said when I miscarried it would be painful and she didn't want me to have to go to the ER because they couldn't do anything for me!! My husband and I were in total shock. We were trying to ask her questions and see if the fact my ovulation was not ""normal"" could have any impact on the ultrasound, as I may not actually be 6 weeks like the sac measured. She was not concerned with our questions, but instead kept bringing up her own miscarriages! She told me she'd bring me back in a week and if they still couldn't detect a heartbeat she'd want to schedule me for a D&C. It was the next day, after the shock had worn off a little bit, that I started to really become upset about how this news was presented to us. To make a long story short I went back the next week and sure enough, we had a heartbeat and a strong fetal pole...and they realized how off their estimations were, as my due date changed by 15 days. I am in the process of changing practices now. I am horrified doctors would allow this kind of behavior.
