I'm speaking as somebody who used to go to Bob's all the time. Bob's is the most chill, fun hip-hop spot in NYC. It is probably smaller than your living room, but that adds to the charm. You can't find a friendler crowd, the music is fabulous, and the drinks are strong and cheap. The bartenders are nice, though they need to start giving more free drinks, especially when you've spent a lot of money at the bar. If you want a good scene with no pretention, great people, and reliable, great hip-hop, r&b, and reggae, then bob's is a must.
Pros: cheap, good location, great music
