Our dog had suddenly and unexpectedly become distressed and I googled for 24 hour emergency vet care. CARES popped up --- they were close to our home in Yardley and it was an easy place to find. Our dog was unable to get out of the car on his own and I wasn't able to manage him. They greeted us at the car and used a stretcher to bring him in. They examined him immediately while I filled out some paperwork. A doctor took the time to really explain to me what was happening to him and carefully communicated our options. In our dog's case, she was able to give us odds for his survival and the likelihood of additional problems that might occur. We made the agonizing decision to euthanize our beloved dog, but we were able to spend time with him in the exam room while they were administering fluids and pain medication and once he was made comfortable we were given a private room to say goodbye. In addition, my son and I brought the dog in while my husband stayed home with our daughter. No one expected the outcome and they allowed us to call the rest of the family in to say goodbye. They didn't rush us or make us feel at all uncomfortable about our decision or our behavior. I felt no pressure to make any decisions while we were there. They politely suggested paying for services before we said our final goodbye so that we could leave once we were ready. Throughout the process they gave us a number of options and did the utmost to make it as easy as possible. I am very thankful to their most compassionate and capable staff. We have a cat and if anything should happen to her that would require emergency care, I will not hesitate to return to CARES, knowing she would receive the best care possible. Pros: Professional and compassionate 24 hour emergency care
